Proposed Washington State Golf Resort Faces Opposition

Diamante Cabo Golf brings you this resort news from Washington State.  The Pleasant Harbor Marina and Golf Resort a $300 million project has faced stiff opposition from The Brinnon Group, who say it is too large for a small, rural community.  The Hood Canal project has also received praise from a North Olympic Peninsula tourism industry leader, who said that the economic benefits of the 257-acre resort  would stretch across Clallam and Jefferson counties.  There is a plan to submit a draft supplemental environmental impact statement in about two months.  For more read here:

This is way cool

Diamante Cabo Golf brings you this very cool piece about Rory McIlroy.   US Open champion Rory McIlroy proved he is at the top of his game by teeing off from the roof of the fourth-tallest hotel in the world.  McIlroy took to Dubai's Burj Al Arab hotel which stands a domineering 321 metres tall, and the helipad-turned-bunker sits just short of the hotel's full height, above the stunning Jumeirah beach.  We don't envy his caddie who has to find his ball.  For more read here:

Kim Jong-Il Leaves Behind a Golf Legacy

Diamante Cabo Golf brings you this amusing story.  Chet Fussman at the Florida Times Union reports that  that not only did we lose a notorious world leader in the passing of North Korea’s Kim Jong-Il, but apparently also one of its most amazing golfers.

Fussman notes that "In 1994, North Korea’s state media reported that Kim, in his first round of golf, played 18 holes in 38-under par at the 7,700-yard championship course at Pyongyang. Not bad for a beginner."
Apparently Jon-Il also made at least five holes-in-one during his round.  We would love to see that scorecard.  For more read here:
